Modern Apprenticeships give individuals the opportunity to work in a paid job while undertaking workplace training and occasionally part-time study in order to gain new and enhanced skills and recognised qualifications. The Modern Apprenticeship is completed within a time period suitable to the employee, employer and training provider.
Employees for this specific programme (MA Accounts) must be newly employed (0-3 months) at commencement of the Modern Apprenticeship and aged between 20 and 24. It will be delivered free of charge and the college has 2 places available.
Modern Apprenticeships all contain the same 3 basic criteria:
• A relevant S/NVQ (or alternative competency based qualifications)
• Core Skills
• Industry specific training
The employer gains a highly trained workforce to enable the company to keep pace with changes in technology and working practices, giving the business a competitive edge.
The employee gets the chance to further their career with increased skills, confidence and motivation. A Modern Apprenticeship will also develop a range of 'soft skills', including communication, teamwork and problem solving skills, and improved numerical and IT skills - all of which are invaluable to any employer.
The Level 3 Diploma in Accounting (AAT Level 3/SCQF Level 6) is perfect for individuals aspiring to, or working in, a financial management role. The MA level introduces more complex accounting tasks, like maintaining cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns.
