Below is our monthly funding round up of grant funding for the third sector in North Lanarkshire:

Firstport – Build It Award

Next Application Deadline: 31st January 2019 (12 noon)

If you have piloted a social enterprise project and been able to prove that your social enterprise concept works, that it has the ability to generate income and sustain itself, then Firstport can help you take it further. You can apply to the ‘Build It Award’ if you are a social entrepreneur looking to move on from running your organisation part time to making it your full time career. Firstport can help to cover your salary/living costs for a year.

Funding of up to £20 000 is available and in certain cases an additional £5000 discretionary funding is available on top of other costs.

Faiths in Scotland Community Action Fund – Main Grants

Next Application Deadline: 13th February 2019

This fund supports local faith groups, by providing grants and support in the struggle against poverty in Scotland’s most fragile urban and rural communities. Up to £2000 is available.

Support is available to make the following differences: Faith groups are more effective in supporting people to make transitions in their lives; Faith groups are more effective in helping to reduce isolation and loneliness; Faith groups are more effective in supporting local people to become more resilient; There is greater understanding and respect between and within faith communities; Local people have increased self-esteem, confidence and skills, equipping them to improve community life.

CSGN Development Fund

Next Application Deadline: 4th March 2019

The 2019/2020 CSGN Development Fund is managed by the Central Scotland Green Network Trust, with funding provided by Transport Scotland, the Scottish Government Food and Drink division, Forestry Commission Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage. It aids the development and implementation of projects delivering the Central Scotland Green Network on the ground.

Organisations can apply for a share of £350 000. Projects should fit broadly with the CSGN vision and at least one of the four priorities: Woodland, Community Growing, Strategic Routes or Active Travel.

WREN – FCC Scottish Action Fund

Next Application Deadline: 13th March 2019 (5pm)

This scheme offers funding of between £2,000 and £100 000 to not for profit projects with a maximum total project cost of £500 000. WREN will consider applications across all types of projects if they fall into one of the following objects: Land Reclamation, Community Recycling, Public Amenities and Parks, Bio Diversity or Historic Buildings. Project applicants are asked to secure an eligible ‘Contributing Third Party’ who can provide 10.75% of the funding provided to each successful project.
