So now North Lanarkshire will be in Tier 3 from 6pm on Friday 11th December – much easier than Tier 4 but still challenging! Everyone is doing their best but of course the continued restrictions are tiring and difficult for us all.
The good news is that the roll out of the COVID 19 vaccine has started in North Lanarkshire, with older adults, people with serious health problems and health and social care workers prioritised for the first and second waves of the vaccine. The first wave started this week and will run until February 2021. Dates for the second and subsequent waves will depend on availability of vaccines and NHS Lanarkshire will confirm dates as soon as they can.
It is important that everyone who is eligible and able takes the vaccine to reduce the risk of contracting C19, passing it on to others and to enable us to gradually return to a more normal world!
Our Christmas and new year will be very challenging too, even with restrictions eased a little for five days. We all need to take great care during this time to protect ourselves and others so we don’t increase the spread of the virus into January and beyond.
Wishing you a safe and restful Christmas and new year from everyone at VANL.
