Recover NL (Environmental Fund) is now open for applications for 2022-23 period, with £150,000 available for distribution.
Like last year, funding is available to existing North Lanarkshire Community and Voluntary organisations that can demonstrate effective and ongoing activities and who participate in community led environmental projects such as litter picks, clean ups and small scale environmental projects. Applicants require to be constituted and should have a bank account in the name of the organisation/group with at least two cheque signatories, who are unrelated by birth, marriage, or household address.
This fund is specifically for purchasing relevant equipment and materials such as tools, PPE equipment, bin bags, litter pickers etc. Equipment for personal use will not be funded. Single organisations can apply for funding up to £2,000 or up to £3,000 if submitting a joint application involving two or more partners.
The application and guidance notes are attached, but please note that they have been updated.
This year, the funding programme will remain open until all funding has been distributed. However, we encourage you to consider an early submission. If you choose to wait until later in the year, then please check the North Lanarkshire Council website to ensure that the funding programme is still open before you start.
Please also note, that all applications are assessed and scored. If your application is successful; the level of funding award will depend on your overall score and on the volume of other successful applications. Therefore, you may receive less funding than what has been requested.
Furthermore, this year the funding has been shared across all nine community board areas. The allocations are based on population size and levels of deprivation. For information, the allocations are as follows:
Community Board Allocation
Northern Corridor £10,912
Total Allocation £150,000
