Remembered is a dynamic new charity which aims to commemorate those who lost their lives in past wars; while educating people today about their sacrifice and helping current veterans by raising money for six beneficiary charities.
There But Not There is the inaugural project for Remembered, to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War. The project aims to take the names from the war memorials and place them back into their communities, to honour those who lost their lives and educate people today about their sacrifice.
The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust
In order to allow all communities to host a commemorative installation, the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust is offering micro-grants.
Communities can apply for the grant from 1st June - 30th June, it will allow them to purchase up to 10 silhouettes, free of charge. These silhouettes can then be placed within community halls, places of worship and places of education, bringing to mind those who went to war and didn’t return. As part of the award, your organisation will need to host a self-funded event to bring your local community together.
This grant is for the silhouettes only, it would not cover the 6ft aluminium Tommy.
