North Lanarkshires Working Employability Programmes
Although Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire provides a range of training opportunities for local volunteers and organisations to benefit from, it was felt that a particular focus was required on providing skills development training for local people who were unemployed.
As a result, the Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire made a key link to the local Community Planning Partnerships ESF funded North Lanarkshires Working partnership to enable delivery of the following personal development courses:
Vocational Volunteering Venture
Vocational Volunteering Venture, or VVV as it is known, provides confidence building, personal development and vocational tasters for unemployed people. Participants are provided with a relevant volunteering placement as part of the tailored twelve-week programme to improve skills. A number of positive outcomes have been achieved by VVV participants, including many who have found new employment or entered into further education or training following their participation on VVV.
IT Vol
IT Vol provides the opportunity for unemployed people to learn computing skills from a beginners level upwards. Participants work towards achieving an accredited SQA qualification, PC Passport. This programme has proved very popular and includes learning skills in word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.
Please contact Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire (South Office) on 01698 358866 for details for more information and on how to apply for any of the above courses.
