In accordance with the Police & Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012, Police Scotland must prepare an Annual Police Plan which sets out the proposed arrangements for the policing of Scotland in the year ahead. Police Scotland is required to consult with the Scottish Police Authority (SPA) on the Annual Police Plan in observance of S35 of the Act.
To fulfil this statutory obligation, Police Scotland has developed a draft Annual Police Plan (APP) for the period of 2021/22. This describes their priorities for policing, objectives and the activity that will be undertaken across the service to address Police Scotland’s strategic outcomes.
The plan aligns with the strategic outcomes and objectives of Policing for a Safe, Protected and Resilient Scotland, the Scottish Police Authority and Police Scotland’s Joint Strategy for Policing (2020), which sets out the strategic vision for policing and what they need to do to ensure the service is sustainable and fit for the future.
Police Scotland are now engaging with stakeholders over the coming weeks. Follow the link to complete the survey - https://consult.scotland.police.uk/surveys/your-police-2020-2021
If you would like to arrange a virtual meeting to discuss the plan, or to provide feedback, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Following this engagement, Police Scotland will develop a final version of the plan which will be presented at the SPA Board meeting in March 2021, and then laid before the Scottish Parliament.
