VANL is sharing the findings from our North Lanarkshire Third Sector Health Check, along with the results of the survey we recently completed.
The report gives us a better understanding of the current situation for third sector organisations across North Lanarkshire, including the pressures they are facing and the support they need.

Listening to the sector
As part of the research, we spoke with people at our Annual Conference and Locality Network events. The feedback we received is included towards the end of the report.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their experiences and views. Your input has helped us build a clearer picture of the challenges facing the third sector.
Funding remains a key issue
One of the main findings from the research is the need for more funding and a change to the way third sector organisations are funded.
Organisations need more secure and sustainable funding so they can maintain their services, plan ahead and continue to develop their work.
This is important for the children, young people, families and communities across North Lanarkshire who rely on these services and support.
The report also highlights the pressures faced by staff and volunteers. Many organisations are working with limited resources, while demand for their services continues. At the same time, recruiting and retaining volunteers remains a significant challenge.
Working together
VANL will continue to support the third sector, represent the views of organisations across North Lanarkshire and campaign for change where it is needed.
To do this effectively, we need to keep hearing from the sector and working together. Our networks and events provide an opportunity for organisations to share experiences, raise issues and work with others facing similar challenges.
