Capacity Building and Representation
VANL staff undertake capacity building with the community and voluntary sector (CVS) to strengthen the support they provide to local children, young people and families to improve their health, wellbeing and inclusion.
VANL staff provide strategic representation at a number of high-level strategic meetings, acting as a voice to ensure that the sector’s views and interests are heard at the right tables. This gives the sector an opportunity to influence change within their local area.
Facilitation of the Children, Young People & Families Network
The Children, Young People & Families Network is a subgroup of the Children’s Services Partnership.
Its purpose is to strengthen and develop the representational and delivery role of organisations supporting children, young people and families and support greater understanding and appreciation of their contribution across public and statutory partners. We do this by working in partnership across the shared priorities identified in the Children’s Services Plan and associated plans such as:
- The Plan for North Lanarkshire
- Local Outcome Improvement Plans
- Health and Social Care NL Strategy and Commissioning Plan 2023-26
- The Child Poverty Scotland Act 2017
- NHS Children and Young People’s Health Plan 2021
- Lanarkshire Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2021-24
- Community Solutions Strategy and Investment Plan 2022-25
It also aims to support CVS engagement and representation across the North Lanarkshire partnerships and cross sector improvement programmes, which will inform and influence wider policies and services, support collaborative working and share information and good practice.
If you’re interested in finding out more about the network, please contact either Joyce Morgan: joyce.morgan@vanl.co.uk or Claire Stewart: claire.stewart@vanl.co.uk.
