On Saturday 7th June, Lanarkshire Deaf Hub held a volunteer celebration event to thank all of their volunteers for their time, commitment and dedication.
The event took place at the end of Volunteers’ Week 2025, an annual UK-wide campaign held from the first Monday in June to celebrate and recognise the contributions of volunteers.
The organisation’s premises at Roman Road in Motherwell was the venue and invited guests were treated to an afternoon tea and the opportunity to hear more about the work of Lanarkshire Deaf Hub and the many clubs and activities they run for their members.
Lanarkshire Deaf Hub continues to go from strength to strength but their work would not be possible without their team of volunteers who go above and beyond to make sure that the Deaf Community of Lanarkshire receives the best support possible.
Speaking after the event, Nicola Boyle, Projects Officer / Team Leader at Lanarkshire Deaf Hub said, “It was really wonderful to celebrate our volunteers at our Volunteer Awards Afternoon Tea. Everyone enjoyed the experience, complete with all types of pastries and a beautiful china tea set. We are profoundly grateful for their dedication and participation in our community. Our charity is growing and changing with the times. We are entering a new era of collaboration and mutual learning with charities and services across Lanarkshire to be deaf aware and accessible to our members, and our volunteers are so essential to this exciting development, representing our motto: Connect, Communicate and Collaborate. Without them we couldn’t go on!”
